...

Ok. So I'm not so good at this blogging thing. Its been over a year and this is my first post since then. Oye vey! Well, things are still good. I'm still at Zep. Been there little over a year now. My husband and I bought our first house. I'm really excited about it. We've been in it since August and we absolutely love it. I still pull in the driveway and can't believe that we have it. Luna is good. She's loves the house and has been so good. She has her days, of course, but for the most part, she's awesome. Hubby and I are planning on starting a family next year. We're going to start trying in May/June time frame. We're just about set up financially to be able to handle my not working once the baby is born. By the time we get preggo, we'll be set for that. That's about it. I'll try to keep posting, but dont hold your breath!

I'm out.

Long Time Coming...

Wow! It's been awhile since I posted last. I've been busy. Job Interviews, conferences, weddings, etc. Hmmm...So, what's been up? Ah yes, the last posting was the obituary for my aunt. Yeah, that was a fun time. Well, since then, I've been on a couple of job interviews, and landed a job at a place called Acuity Specialty Products. I'm doing quality control for Zep (www.zep.com), which will be Zep Inc on November 1st. It is SO nice to be in a lab. I'm 2 weeks in, and so far, I really like it. It can get kinda mundane, but there is always stuff to do so that helps keep the boredom down. Umm...What else? Oh! Melanie got married! She looked SO pretty!! We've been friends for almost 3 years now and I have never seen her look so gorgeous. And they both looked so happy! We had a great time. It was almost as much fun as our wedding. The only thing that made our wedding more fun was that it was our wedding. :-) Luna is doing good. She has been very well behaved since we got back from New Hampshire. I think it's because she's afraid we're going to abandon her, ya know, for another week. That and we've been going through some serious obedience training too. She's starting to lose her puppy face and turning into a "real dog." Today, she's going to the vet to have her nails clipped (she won't let me do it!), and then we're gonna go to the dog park for an hour or so. Finally, I found this on an old blog and realized it was time to update it because somethings have changed I'm gonna leave the old answers so you can see how my life has changed. Enjoy!

Some information...

So I've been working with hubby for a little over 2 months now. I'm really enjoying it. My coworkers are great. I am, however, feeling a little out of place. I just graduated with a degree in chemistry and I am doing nothing chemistry related. I'm missing being the in lab and running experiments all day long. The job that is starting in August is kinda up in the air. I still plan on taking it but if something else comes along that is more appropriate, I may apply and take that job. Plus, he's still not sure how much he's going to pay me. He said it would be less than 28k, and more than I'm making now (I make $11/hr). Its also going to be hourly, which allows for a little more flexibility, but if I don't work, I don't get paid. We'll see how it all works out. I'm out.

Three Weeks In

So, I'm going into week 3 of working with hubby's company, and I have to say, I'm really enjoying myself. His coworkers are really nice and I'm making friends, and not only because he's my husband. I'm forming friendships of my own. Could I do it for years and years? No freakin way. But for the summer, its actually been a lot of fun. They've got me working two locations. I'm working the front desk on Tuesdays and Thursdays. That entails answering the phone and getting the mail (the highlight of the day). Mondays, Wednesdays, and possibly Friday's they've got me working on the other side doing random tasks such as checking and filing emails, sending faxes, data input, etc, basic admin assistant stuff. I thought I was going to be really bored, but I'm actually really having a lot of fun. Sometimes the tasks seem a little menial, but its better than sitting at home doing laundry. Oh! I found out the grant I was waiting for has come through, and as soon as JM can get me hired through the school, I'll begin working for him. I'm really excited about that! Anyway, its time to go home and battle traffic. I'm out!

New Clothes, New Makeup, New Job

So today I have started my new job at Hubby's office. I'm working at the front desk answering phones. Not exactly using my new degree, but its something to hold me over until my research position opens up in the fall. Its my first day and I've met just about everybody. I'm really excited and a little nervous, but it doesn't seem like its going to be difficult. Valerie is really nice and I know some of the people from having lunch with Hubby. Mel and I went shopping this weekend and I got some new clothes and she bought me BareMinerals for my birthday. New clothes, new makeup, and a new job. I think this summer is going to be pretty great! I'm out.

Let it Be Known...

Let it be known...that I have the GREATEST husband in the ENTIRE WORLD!! I graduated on Thursday night at 7pm and was lucky to have one of my best friends sitting one seat down from me. Last night, Mel, Fernando, and I went and had massages and then Mel's mom threw a party for her graduation. I ended up staying the night with her because we had all had a little too much to drink. :-) Mel picked me up yesterday and Fernando dropped me off at my parents house today and I hung out there for a couple of hours because I was "not allowed to come home yet." When I finally WAS allowed to come home, I opened the door and stopped dead in my tracks. "This isn't my apartment," I said. I walked in to find my entire apartment completely cleaned. My husband, mother, and a group of friends from church came over and completely cleaned my entire apartment while I was out with Mel yesterday, and my husband planned the whole thing!!! It looks like a completely different apartment. I am still in absolute shock. I walked into the office and started crying. Thank you so much Travis, Travis, Dawn, Talmadge, Candace, and Mom for all the work you did. From the bottom of my heart, I am truly thankful to be blessed with such wonderful people in my life. I'm out!
